Harry: The Optimist

Harry seems to always find a silver lining. A few days ago, it was gorgeous here. Sunny, about 75. We decided to load everyone up, including the dog (haven't mentioned her before- I'll have to write about her at some point) and head to the park.

Stephanie played on the playground while the boys played catch (both football and baseball, though not at the same time). By all accounts, everyone had a good time. There was running, smiling, laughing, the joy of being outdoors.

After loading up in the stereotypical family of five minivan and leaving, I asked the kids if they had fun, expecting cheers of joy and gratitude and to be filled with the satisfaction of having shown my kids a good time.

Instead, I heard Harry. "That grass is itchy."
