Harry #2

I just got back from Harry's appointment for his EEG and with the neurologist. The good news is that it's nothing major. However, there is definitely something going on in that little head of his.

The EEG showed clear and frequent spikes of abnormal/ seizure activity. The neurologist seems to think that he is showing signs of complex partial seizures with secondary generalization. With the medication, though, he should be perfectly normal and take part in life just as he did before. The only thing he said to watch out for was activities in which he could get injured if he had an incident while participating, such as swimming alone. (Driving was one, too, but I don't think we need to worry about that one.)

Basically, we need to keep a close eye on him for the next several months to make sure that we don't see warning signs of anything more severe. (Though, we don't expect anything to happen, if any of you have contact with him when we're not around and notice anything unusual or notice Harry acting more strangely than normal, let us know!) Otherwise, we'll monitor his medication and get him checked out every 6 months or so. Hopefully, it will be something that he outgrows and we can get him off the medication at some point.

Thanks for your prayers as we get his medicine regulated and make sure that he continues to progress normally. We know that God is looking after him and will take care of him!
